Solar Street Light – Ultimate FAQs Guide

Solar energy converts natural energy (sunlight) into electricity. It is a cost effective way to save the environment. Do you want to light up your roads and streets with this environmentally friendly natural lighting method? You must have some questions about this product before reaching out to talk to a solar street light manufacturer. In this section, we will provide you with all the necessary information about solar street lights. Read the article and find out the answers to your questions related to solar street lights.

Solar light is a unique device that uses solar energy to generate electricity. Its main features are no mercury, no arsenic, and other harmful substances, and a safe, reliable, and stable control system.

Solar LED street lights generally use triode LED as the light source; there are two kinds of light sources at work: one is using high-power incandescent tubes; this kind of bulb has a high luminous efficiency at work, which can reach more than 1000 hours; the other is using high-power solar panels as the light source, which can get more than 1000 hours. But both light sources have a common shortcoming: solar panels emitting spectrum is not stable enough and can not be continuous luminescence. You must add light-emitting diodes and other auxiliary light sources to improve the brightness.

Third, in the daytime, when the solar panel emits a higher spectrum, light decay is more extensive. At this time must increase the light-emitting diodes and other auxiliary light sources. Therefore, solar lamps and lanterns can work without being equipped with supplementary light sources. Still, because it needs a power supply to work, special attention needs to be paid to its use environment: high humidity, high heat, high cold, low-temperature frost, and other harsh environments to use solar lamps and lanterns; in addition, It should pay attention to whether it has leakage; and whether it will produce toxic gases and other effects on human health.

Solar lights are solar panels installed on the solar power generation device to collect solar electricity, which is converted and sent to the battery and stored. Solar battery, under their discharge, emits different wavelengths of blue light (usually called phosphor) so that it emits different light colors (green), but also solar lights are mainly composed of phosphor. Solar lights require regular replenishment of water to ensure that the lamp beads continue to shine, thus preventing unnecessary losses caused by the aging of the lamp beads.
Therefore, photovoltaic panels manufacturing, photoelectric integrated circuit or directly connected to the controller as a light source and management equipment use.

You can use solar street lamps anywhere because you don’t need to worry about the electrical connections. Utilize solar street lights as

  • Road lighting
  • Street lighting
  • Highway lighting
  • Airport lighting
  • Playground lighting
  • Industrial lighting
  • Security lights
  • Parking lights
  • Lights at commercial places
  • Farmhouse light
  • Resorts lighting
  • Luminaires for mining areas
  • Remote area lighting
  • Island lighting

A photoresistor (photocell) is a sensor that is attached to a solar street light. The photocell stops the light from coming on during the day. The battery continues to charge during the day.

Once the photoresistor senses little or no light, it allows the battery to power the solar street light.

3-5days for sample, 10-35days for bulk order according quantity.

The power of solar street lights ranges from 7W to 1500W.

For example. If we have a 12W lamp and want it to run for 12 hours, the power consumption of the lamp is 12W*12 hours = 144Wh (watt hours).

Lamp (W). 7W, 9W, 12W

Hours of use: 12 hours, 12 hours, 12 hours

Power consumption: 84 Wh, 108 Wh, 144 Wh

Calculate the charging and discharging time of the street light as

Lamp – 20 W / Battery – 65 Ah (12 V) / Panel – 100 W / Running time = 12 hours

Consumption: 20*12 = 240 W

Available power through the battery (85% efficiency). 65 Ah * 12 V * 0.85 = 663 Wh

Standby time (discharge time) Available power / consumption = 663/240 = 2.7 days (1 day = 12 hours)

1、Simple installation

Installing solar street lights is simple and easy and does not require complicated new wiring. It only needs a concrete base and a battery pit. The installation does not require a lot of workforces, material and financial resources.

2、Energy saving and environmental protection

Solar street light converts sunlight into electric energy without power consumption. It does not produce pollution, no radiation, in line with the current concept of environmental protection.

3、Safe and durable

Traditional street lights may have safety hazards due to construction quality, aging materials, power supply disorder, etc.. In contrast, solar street lights do not use AC power, so there will be no safety hazards. Due to the maturity of manufacturing technology, the performance of most solar modules on the market has been stable for at least ten years. Their power generation time can reach twenty-five years or even longer.

4、High technology and low maintenance cost

Under the regulation of solar charge controllers, solar street lights can adjust the light intensity according to the natural brightness and people’s needs. In remote areas, the maintenance cost of traditional street lights is very high. However, solar street lights only need a periodic inspection, so the maintenance cost is relatively low.

Because of the shortage of traditional energy sources, the application of solar energy will become more widespread. Solar street lights can be used on many occasions. However, there are some restrictive factors in applying and promoting solar street lights.

Large initial investment
One of the factors is the initial cost. The initial investment in solar street lights is significant. According to the survey, the total cost of installing a solar street light is often three or four times more than that of a traditional LED street light.

Battery life
The battery has always been a bottleneck for solar energy applications. Generally speaking, ordinary batteries cannot be fully charged for a long time, and their charging efficiency may drop to 50%, which will inevitably affect the lighting conditions at night on continuous rainy days. Therefore, it is crucial to choose a high-quality battery when installing solar street lights.

The battery is vulnerable to theft.
Because it is not grid-powered and has a higher monetary value than a regular street light, the risk of theft is relatively high. This is why batteries often need to be buried underground or placed in high places.

Low conversion efficiency
Solar panels have a conversion efficiency of almost 15% to 17%. In theory, the conversion efficiency of silicon solar panels can reach about 30%. So we think there is still room for improvement.

Snow or dust
Snow or dust, as well as moisture, can accumulate on horizontal PV panels. This has an impact on the conversion of solar energy. Solar panels must be cleaned regularly in some places, such as Saudi Arabia.

Geographical and weather conditions
Since solar energy comes from the sun, geography and weather conditions directly affect the lighting conditions of solar street lights. Continuous cloudy and rainy days can affect the lighting, so the illumination or brightness of the light does not meet national standards. Solar street lights sometimes can’t be illuminated, especially in winter.

Pollution from lead-acid batteries
Currently, many suppliers configure lead-acid batteries for buyers to save costs. They are lead, sulfuric acid, and other metals and plastics. The waste battery acid contains a lot of charges, and the accidental discharge will not only pollute the soil and water flow seriously. In addition, the recycling and disposal of waste batteries in China is still in a relatively disorderly state, so many waste lead-acid batteries pollute our living space, and pollution exists even with colloidal batteries.

Solar Panel Assemblies
Solar panel assemblies consist of three main components: the solar panel assembly, the mounting bracket, and the hardware. It’s not easy to attach solar panels to a pole. To do this, a rack and mounting equipment are required. A primitive solar panel consists only of solar cells, glass, and a frame. In addition, a solar mounting assembly must be fitted to the solar panel to secure it to the pole. Using an all-aluminum bracket design and stainless steel hardware will ensure that your solar panel assembly can stand the test of time, especially in harsh environments prone to rust and degradation. We even recommend confirming that the rear of the panel is protected by a vented panel tray to provide additional protection from wind-blown debris and damage.

Solar battery packs
The solar pack includes the batteries and the wiring that connects to the solar panel assembly and the luminaire. The batteries are sized to require a minimum of 5 days of autonomy to provide a long battery life, typically 5 to 7 years, while powering the system when there is little or no sun due to inclement weather. The battery assembly should be housed in a ventilated aluminum battery box to provide thermal ventilation, preferably under the sun, to provide additional shade and keep the battery from overheating. The new design also allows for lower battery box mounting and locking to provide more specific maintenance requirements; however, this is only every five years or more if sized correctly.

Light controls
The light control is usually located within the battery box and provides the on-and-off function of the solar street light system. The control unit can also operate the correct profile of the system to tailor the running time. The light control should also provide a low voltage disconnect (LVD) to prevent the battery from being drained to a critical point, ensuring that the battery never drops to zero, again increasing the life of the battery system. There are many lighting control options available, from dusk to dawn, evening for several hours, split times, and beyond. Please discuss the specific controls for your project with your solar lighting professional.

Solar luminaires
Today, when it comes to solar street lighting, LED luminaires are the most popular match for solar components; however, other luminaire options are still available. The luminaire should provide the required level of light at ground level to allow for easy viewing while delivering the most efficient lighting possible. Picking out the luminaire style, distribution pattern, and light level required is the first step in ensuring you get the solar lighting system you need for your street lighting application. LEDs expand the range of luminaire styles from standard street lighting cobra head luminaires to decorative pendant style luminaires and everywhere in between while still providing better lighting levels at lower wattages.

Luminaire mounting brackets
Luminaire mounting brackets mount the luminaire to the pole and set a length. Luminaire mounting brackets can range from a few inches. For example, a tongue and groove bracket on the side of a rod is 5 inches to 2 feet, to a considerable distance from the pole. For instance, a bracket on the side of a bar is usually 4 to 8 feet but can be 12 to 15 feet in length if required. Fixture mounting brackets set the institution away from the pole to provide the necessary light at ground level while providing the required setback of the stick from the road. Brackets can be straight, upward-sloping, or even decorative, depending on the architectural needs of the lighting project.

Light Poles
The pole is the final component of any successful solar street lighting installation. The rod needs to be strong enough to support the solar energy and high enough to allow the solar energy to be mounted above the luminaire, but ensure that the luminaire is mounted at the correct height for optimum light diffusion at ground level. In some areas, the poles need to meet the wind load requirements for solar. Light sticks are available in aluminum, steel, fiberglass composite, or concrete and can be direct buried or anchored bases. Transformer-based poles can be used for specific applications. Understanding what goes into the design of an electric pole will ensure that your bar stands the test of time.

Solar Street Light - How to install solar street light

Many solar cell technologies are available for solar street lighting, each with different benefits and drawbacks.

Nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries are durable and resistant to high temperatures. With a hydrogen oxide electrode as the anode and cadmium as the cathode, Ni-Cd batteries have been used extensively in civil and military aviation. Still, they are becoming quite popular in solar applications as well.

NiCd batteries are the best choice for street lighting in remote areas as they are highly reliable and require low maintenance. These batteries are cheaper; they can be discharged to 60% depth of discharge (DOD) while providing 2500 cycles, making them the best choice for solar applications.

Lead-acid batteries

Lead-acid batteries have become the standard for many years because they are robust and inexpensive. They consist of a cathode made of lead oxide and a metallic lead anode immersed in a sulphuric acid electrolyte.

Although they are cheap, lead-acid batteries can require regular maintenance, which is why we do not recommend them for underground installations of solar street lights. These batteries provide 500 cycles at 50% DOD and 1200 cycles at 30% DOD. AGM and gel batteries are commonly used lead-acid batteries for solar street lighting.

Lithium-Ion Batteries

Lithium-ion (Li-Ion) batteries are the most popular solar street light batteries but are also the most expensive. They used lithium metal oxide cathodes and carbon anodes immersed in a lithium salt electrolyte.

Lithium-ion batteries are popular due to their higher energy density, resulting in a higher capacity in a compact design. These batteries can be discharged to 80% DOD while providing 2,000-3,000 cycles for street lights.

Lithium iron phosphate

Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries are another excellent lithium battery technology but at a lower price. These cells have a high energy density and can be discharged to 80% DOD while providing approximately 4,500 cycles.

Lithium iron phosphate batteries are manufactured with graphite anodes and lithium iron phosphate cathodes immersed in a lithium salt electrolyte. This is the preferred lithium technology for solar street lights as it is cheaper than lithium-ion batteries but still offers a maintenance-free option with a high energy density.

Flow batteries

The flowing redox cell is a curious case in that it encases two electrolytes that pass through two half cells separated by a membrane, one housing the anode and the first electrolyte and the other housing the cathode and the second electrolyte. The electrolyte pair usually consists of vanadium/vanadium (in different states), iron/chromium, or zinc/bromine.

This emerging technology is why they are not as famous in the street lighting or solar industry. Liquid flow batteries offer more cycles than most batteries, can operate at low temperatures, and are easily scalable to most applications.

No, you need to install rechargeable batteries in the solar street light. For testing the lights, you can use non-rechargeable batteries, but not for everyday use.

Non-rechargeable batteries are of no use for solar streetlights. Once they have run out of charge, you have to throw them away.

Type 1. Off-grid split solar street light system

Most solar light projects are coming up in areas with no power lines. Solar streetlights are a better option. In an off-grid split street light, each pole has a separate unit. It contains the power supply (solar panel), the battery, the solar charge controller, and an LED light. You can place this unit anywhere (except where there is no sunlight).

Type 2. Grid-connected hybrid solar street light system

The grid-tied hybrid solar street light builds a hybrid AC/DC controller and an additional constant supply of 100-240Vac voltage.

The solar and grid hybrid solution integrates solar and grid hybrid solutions. The system works with solar power as a priority and automatically switches to mains power (100-240Vac ) when the batteries are low. The hybrid solution makes it credible and risk-free in northern countries with high lighting requirements but long rainy and snowy seasons.

To learn more about the features and functions of hybrid systems, please contact us to learn more about our products.

Type 3. Solar and wind hybrid solar street lighting system

We will complete a hybrid solar and wind energy system by adding a wind turbine and upgrading the controller from the current off-grid split solar street light system to a hybrid solar and wind energy solar street light system.

This solar and wind energy street light is a combination of solar and wind energy. When we combine the two, more energy is generated. Wind and sunlight produce energy at different times of the year.

Wind dominates in the winter, while sunlight is more prevalent in the summer. For this reason, this hybrid wind and solar street light are successful and a good choice in harsh climatic conditions.

Type 4. Integrated solar street light systems
The integrated solar street light is a third-generation solar lighting system known for its compact design that combines all components in one unit. It was created in 2010 for the rural outdoor lighting sector and became popular within a few years. Moreover, it has become a perfect choice for specialist lighting applications such as car parks, parks, streets, and main roads.

Not only is it a structural upgrade, but it also includes an upgrade of the power supply and its lighting system. The all-in-one solar street light is very flexible in terms of the system. We can switch between off-grid solar, solar-grid hybrid, or even solar-wind hybrid solutions by changing the controller and adding a wind turbine.

Look at Besen’s street light, which is not only an off-grid solar street light but also a hybrid solar street light. Furthermore, there are even more innovative features such as easy programming, intelligent dimming, mention sensing, ultra-high efficiency, all-in-one, all-night lighting, no electricity bills, and much more.

Besen is a valuable platform. All its features are optional and customizable. It can be extended to include IoT remote communication and monitoring functions. Increasingly advanced functions and additional devices can also be integrated.

Solar street lights use natural energy (the sun). In contrast, ordinary street lights are powered through the electricity grid.
Solar street lights have a higher initial purchase cost than ordinary street lights.
With solar street lights, you do not need to worry about the monthly electricity bill.
Solar LED street lights are more efficient in terms of lumens than ordinary street lights.
Traditional lights can last up to 8,000 hours, while solar LED street lights can work for 5-10 years.
The freestanding solar streetlight poles reduce the threat of power outages. With regular street lights, you may experience a complete power outage.
Solar streetlights are eco-friendly.
You need less maintenance for solar street lights than for regular street lights.
Solar street lights are relatively more weatherproof and waterproof than ordinary street lights.

LED solar street lights are the best way to light up streets, roads, or highways without the need to dig trenches in the traditional grid. As a result, solar LED street lights can reduce installation costs, reduce the need for extensive wiring and reduce maintenance and project costs over the system’s life. Moreover, because they are grid independent, you do not have to worry about downstream issues affecting each light, such as power outages or broken underground lines.

The short answer is Yes. Solar Powered Street Lights do work in the winter. In fact, solar PV panels work better in cold temperatures than in hot temperatures

The indicators on the sensors show the condition of the battery. It shows the charging and voltage of the battery.

The green indicator shows normal functioning, whereas the red light shows an abnormality in the battery.

If the indicator is off, showing no light, check the connecting wires, or maybe the battery is dead.

Indicators on Solar Powered Street Lamp

1. The green light is flashing.
First, you should check whether there is intense light around or whether the moonlight is very bright. If these two conditions exist, remove the solid or solar street light; if there is no intense light around, please replace the controller inside.

2. The red light is flashing, and the load does not light up.
1) Check the function of the controller. Call the controller with normal function to the lamp body from the side, connect it and test whether the load works. If yes, it means there is a problem with the controller; replace the controller; if the load still does not light up, it means a problem with the LED light source.
2) Check the LED light source. Use an adjustable power supply to test the light voltage to 36V/24V/12V (according to your light voltage), and test whether the LED light source is usually on. If you cannot confirm, replace the light source with a new one.

3. The red light is on, and the battery has no power.
1) Observe if there is no sun for several days in a row, wait for the next day to recharge the battery, and observe the charging status of the light in the daytime. If the green light flashes during the daytime, the charging is standard. The light will automatically light up at night
2) If you charge the battery for a few days on a sunny day and the light still does not light up at night, the solar panel cannot be charged, or the battery cannot be discharged.
a. Test the function of the solar panel (please refer to B below).
b. Test the battery function (please refer to B below).
c. Preventive measures.
1) Record the battery voltage value in the morning and evening. If the voltage values at night and in the morning are the same, the battery is not charging.
2) When you test the voltage of the solar panel with a multimeter, you must place the solar panel in the sunlight and open the junction box to test the charging voltage or test the voltage of the waterproof cable connector directly
(3) Test the solar panel’s voltage and current; test the battery’s voltage and current.

Your solar street light may display a green indicator light at night. The green indicator light shows that the batteries are charging. Check if some vital light source around affects the solar panels. You must replace the controller if there is no vital light source.
The red light on the sensor indicates that the battery needs to be charged. Assume that the red light is on without any load. Check your light controller.
If your batteries are discharged prematurely, make sure they are compatible with the size of the light.
If the batteries are not fully charged, check the orientation of the solar panel. It must be facing the sun correctly. Make sure no obstacles between the solar panel and the sun, such as trees, shadows, buildings, etc.

To solve this mystery, our expert team of engineers gathered the necessary information to provide a cost analysis of each lighting system. The total street light costs may surprise you, but we reveal all of our information in this unbiased review below.

* The cost of electrical infrastructure is calculated at $40/ linear foot for a 200ft x 200ft parking lot space. Includes: trenching, conduit, wire, and repairing the trench. The electrical bill is calculated at average $20 per light each month.

I have an existing electric street light. Can I convert it to run on solar power?
The short answer is: Yes. However, it is essential to note that while an electric streetlight pole may be repurposed for a solar lighting system, the luminaire itself will need to be replaced to use solar power.

Why can’t you install a solar panel on an existing light?
A common misconception about solar lighting is that solar energy is stored on the solar panel until nightfall, which powers the luminaire directly. The luminaire is powered by a battery – which is charged by the solar panel. Together with the energy management system, the batteries ensure enough charge is stored during the day to power the luminaire throughout the night, even if inclement weather means several nights’ worth of power must be stored. In addition, your existing luminaire is designed for AC power, so it needs to be replaced with a DC (battery) model.

The Integrated Solar Street Light or All-in-One Solar Street Light can be easily distinguished by its slim body, lightweight construction, and elegant features. This solar street light has a compact design and several intelligent technologies installed in its housing to facilitate maintenance and installation and to prevent vandalism.

LED lights, a lithium battery, an intelligent MPPT controller, and a high-efficiency solar panel are integrated into the street light.

Integrated solar street lights are popular in areas lacking a source of electricity or in remote areas far from the grid. This is why most of them are in high demand in coastal areas.

It is also a highly sought-after technology in many countries in the ‘sunbelt’ regions of the planet, where there is a potent source of solar power, as shown in the pictures below.

If you are in one of these countries, you can contact us for more information on how integrated solar street lighting can potentially benefit you and your business.

Innovation makes it possible. The integrated solar street light is a new-age compact lighting solution that combines solar panels, LED lighting, lithium-ion batteries and a PIR motion sensor in one unit. This integrated solar street light combines LED drive technology, world class battery charging technology and electronics based on a highly efficient microprocessor.

Yes, the solar street light can be left on all night. Typically, the brightness is 100% for the first few hours, after which the brightness is reduced to save energy.

Some high-quality solar street lights can even work more than this.

Good quality batteries can store enough energy through the solar panels to illuminate the light without the sun. All you need is a battery charger that will work for 8 hours when fully charged.

You can ask your solar street light factory to program the operating mode to suit your project needs.

The solar beam angle can be adjusted from 60-160 degrees to illuminate a large area. But the size of the beam angle also depends on the height of the pole installation.
Longer poles cover a larger area than shorter solar street light poles.

The solar light has an on and off switch – so that you can turn it off completely when not in use. Conversely, you can turn the switch on when you want your light to work. Generally, they have an internal sensor that tells you when your light is charging and when to turn the bulb on.

As commercial solar LED lighting or solar power systems have no moving parts, maintenance is straightforward and does not need to be done often. However, even if your system is on a slope and it rains where you live, dirt and debris buildup can still build up on the solar panels. You only need to clean the Solar panels once a year to ensure that your system runs well.

How exactly do you clean them?
Making a solution with soap and water, using a soft brush and a scraper, will bring your solar panels back to their shine. It would help if you cleaned them in the morning before they start heated up by the sun. This is similar to washing a car, and you will be done by following the steps below in no time.

Wet the panels with a hose and wash off the dirt and dust.
Get out your soft bristle brush and soapy water and scrub the panels. Where it is difficult to remove, gently use your fingers or let the soap soak in for a minute and try again.
Rinse the panel thoroughly to ensure that no soap residue is left behind.

Other maintenance
While you are in there cleaning the panels, this is an excellent time to check all connections for any problems, such as chewed-up wires or conduit, check the light fittings (if any) for any problems, and make any replacements or repairs as needed. This is also an excellent time to replace the batteries if they have been there for five to seven years.

1. LED chips affect the brightness of the light

There is a misconception that the more LED beads there are, the brighter the street light will be. Many companies on the market use US chips with lumens of 130lm/w. Therefore, if you want a high solar system street light with high brightness, choosing a high-performance, high-lumen LED chip from a major brand is the best. In the same configuration, the brightness of a solar system street light with a big brand chip can be increased by a fifth.

2. Solar panels decide solar energy conversion efficiency

Solar system street lights must be exposed to sunlight to produce sufficient energy. If the solar panel is blocked, it will limit the conversion of electrical energy, which directly leads to the brightness of the light not reaching the required level, and the light will become dim. If this situation, you need adjust the height of the pole or the position of the solar panel to suit the situation so that the solar panel is no longer blocked and fully absorbs the sunlight. The material of solar panels also affects the conversion of electrical energy. Manufacturers of high-quality solar system street lights use monocrystalline silicon solar panels with high power conversion efficiency.

3. Height of the street light pole.

The height of the pole affects the brightness. When choosing the height of a street light pole, the height should be determined based on the road width. As a sample, the height of a single-sided street light ≥ the width of the road, and the height of a double-sided symmetrical street light = half the width of the road. The height of a double-sided herringbone street light is at least 70% of the width of the road in order to bring about the best lighting effect. If the height of the lamp pole is too low, it is easy to cause waste resources; if the height is too high, the light brightness is not enough.

4. The controller affects the brightness of the solar system street light

The control system plays a crucial role in the life of the batteries and in controlling the brightness of the lamps. Due to the limitations of the batteries, solar lights cannot be illuminated at 100% power like conventional street lights. During continuous rain, the battery capacity becomes very low and cannot work as if it were fully charged. This requires an intelligent system that adjusts the output power according to the battery capacity so that the luminaire works in good working order and thus ensures its longevity. The controller controls the input and output according to the real-time capacity of the battery so that the battery is not overcharged or over-discharged, thus protecting the life of the battery and making it more durable.

Firstly, on main roads, if the width is three 20 meters, double-sided lighting is required. In addition, road illumination requirements and illumination uniformity are what we need to consider, where the uniformity should generally be above 0.3. The greater the uniformity, the higher the scattering of the solar street light and the better its lighting effect.

We can assume a double row of symmetrical lighting deployment, the height of the pole is at least bigger than 0.5 of the road width, and the height of the pole should be 12-14m; assuming a 14m pole is used, the installation spacing of the street light about three times the pole height, so the spacing is at least 40m; in this case, the power of the solar street light should be above 200W to meet the lighting requirements of the main road.

Another, the illuminance and power are related to the installation height of the light. For solar street lights, we hope that the angle of the light is as large as possible so that the uniformity will be more ideal and the distance between the poles will be extended, reducing the number of poles installed and saving costs.

Finally, if the solar intelligent street light has a spacing of 40m, the height of the street light pole is 14m, the power is 200W, and the lamps are arranged on both sides, how is the illuminance calculated? So test the 200W street light first because different manufacturers of street lights, LED light source is not the same, the optical lens is not the same, and the same high power total luminous flux will not be the same, which leads to the illumination of the road is not the same.

30-50 metres
For roads with 12m poles, a longitudinal spacing of 30-50m is generally recommended for solar street lights. Symmetrical lighting on both sides should be used and the width of the road lighting needs to exceed 15 metres.

The Smart Solar Street Light uses new LED technology to provide higher brightness with less energy consumption. The lower wattage LED lights are more efficient and consume less power than traditional style luminaires, while providing higher brightness levels and zero UV emissions.

Solar street lights can be used indoors
However, if the solar panels are also installed indoors, the solar street light will not work because its panels are completely blocked from absorbing sunlight, so there is no sunlight to convert into electricity for lighting.

The only point of consideration is that the solar panels get full sunlight all day long. So you need to install the solar panel outdoor for proper sunlight.
